Ex-addict Robbie Williams vows to help Ant McPartlin as troubled telly star battles drug and booze demons
Singer has reached out and offered to help stricken TV star who revealed battle with painkillers and depression last week
SINGER Robbie Williams has told TV’s troubled Ant McPartlin that if he wants to talk, he is there for him in his battle against drugs and booze addiction.
Britain’s Got Talent star Ant, 41, is in a rehab clinic after confessing his problems to wife Lisa and co-star Declan Donnelly.
Former Take That star Robbie, 43, also spent time in rehab in 2007 after taking speed, LSD, heroin, cocaine and “heart-stopping” amounts of prescription drugs.
He once said his addictions left him “24 hours from death”.
And the Let Me Entertain You singer has contacted Dec to offer his advice.
A source said last night: “Robbie has battled the same demons as Ant and come out the other side, so he knows he must be going through hell.
“He felt he could offer advice. He has been where Ant is himself, and wanted to help.
“He has had conversations with Dec about the most helpful points of the treatment and what he found most difficult.

“And he has given a lot of advice about how to support his friend as much as possible.
“Robbie has also sent Ant a few messages directly.
“He made it clear that if he wants to talk to him, he can.”
But despite sinking into a depression, Ant managed to keep his torment a secret from Lisa, 40, and his best pal Dec, 41, for two years.
