Em walked the red carpet for the premiere in Paris as her elaborate dress stretched behind her.

And the star looked delighted to be there despite the film being completely savaged by critics and failing to set the box office alight as yet.

The film is a technology themed thriller with Emma’s character joining an internet corporation called The Circle and deals with themes including surveillance and freedom.

The cast also includes Tom Hanks and fellow Brits John Boyega and Karen Gillan.

Aside from promoting the film, Emma also spent some time in Paris (where she was born) hiding copies of The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood.

The stunt is a continuation of Emma’s literary initiative where she is trying to encourage fans to read engaging stories.

“I'm hiding copies of The Handmaid's Tale in Paris!” Emma wrote in Twitter – repeating the message in French.

Emma previously hid copies of Mom and Me and Mom on the London underground.

Emma discussed her decision to hide books around cities across the globe previously, saying: “I have started reading as many books and essays about equality as I can get my hands on.

"There is so much amazing stuff out there! Funny, inspiring, sad, thought-provoking, empowering! I’ve been discovering so much that, at times, I’ve felt like my head was about to explode.”
