Danny Dyer looks miserable as he spends TWO weeks away from his family because of busy EastEnders schedule

DANNY Dyer has spent the past two weeks without going home to his family, The Sun Online can reveal.

The 39-year-old soap star has such a packed out schedule with EastEnders he's chosen to stay in a hotel close to the studios - despite his family being just 19 miles away.

Danny was making his way out of the film studios where EastEnders are recorded and heading back to the plush digs where he's been staying.

An insider told The Sun Online: "Danny's working seriously hard at the moment. He's been filming every day last week and every day this week.

"It's totally normal depending on what storylines they've got and Danny is incredibly busy right now."

It is still only a few weeks since Danny returned to Albert Square following a break from filming the show.

The star - who is a fan favourite and features as a prominent cast member - had been put through an exhausting filming process ahead of his break as his character, Mick Carter, featured in high profile storylines.

Last month, the actor attended the TV Baftas in London and spoke at his shock at being nominated for his appearance on the BBC's Who Do You Think You Are where he learned he is an ancestor of King Edward III.

He said: “I didn’t believe it and I still don’t believe it. I try and use it but no one believes me. How do you get your head around it?

“I am royalty and hopefully we can nick a little award for it.”

He lost out on the award, unfortunately, to the heart-stopping snakes v iguanas chase from the David Attenborough documentary, Planet Earth II.

He returned to BBC soap EastEnders in scenes that aired four days after his Bafta defeat.
