Coronation Street’s Kym Marsh is ‘sick of singing talent shows’… despite finding fame in Popstars and her daughter Emilie appearing on The Voice
The actress was part of short-lived pop group Hear'Say
KYM Marsh admits she's had enough of talent shows despite finding fame on Popstars.
The Coronation Street star, 41, released one album with Hear'Say in 2001 following the show and went on to put out a solo album in 2003 before turning her attentions to acting.
Speaking to she said: "There’s a couple of new music shows, Pitch Battle and The Voice Kids. I must admit, I feel like, ‘not another one!’ Having said that, if they’re finding talent that’s always a plus.
"As someone who appeared on Popstars - the first ever reality music show - I remember being so keen to carve out a career as a professional singer and didn’t know how to do it and didn’t have friends in the industry – it’s not like you can go to the Job Centre."
In 2015 Kym cheered on her daughter as she performed Zedd's Clarity on the first series of The Voice.
Emilie, then 16, failed to get the judges to turn for her, leaving her mum teary-eyed.
It was a bitter pill to take for the teen, especially as Sir Tom Jones and Ricky Wilson admitted they should have pressed their buzzers.

Tom lamented: "I made a mistake here. There's nothing to criticise. On reflection I should have hit my button."
While Ricky said: "I don't know what that seed of doubt is but I pushed my button too late."
Kym recently celebrated her birthday with boyfriend Matt Baker, and she revealed she's never felt love like the love she shares with him.
"We had a lovely day together," she said. "To be honest, I’ve never felt as loved as do at the moment and it’s such a lovely feeling – Matt’s my absolute rock."
Earlier this month Kym called in police after explicit pictures of her were leaked online.
She made a report to cops after learning that the intimate snaps were being circulated on the internet.
Sources told how she is horrified that someone could stoop so low as to share the photos – which were taken while she was in a relationship.
And they also revealed her terror that a sex video taken at the same time could be made public.
One said: “Kym is absolutely sickened that someone has put these photos in the public domain.”
