Coronation Street’s Bethany Platt will fight back after discovering Nathan Curtis’ plan to sell her as a sex slave abroad
The schoolgirl will take a major risk to save herself after vile groomer Nathan underestimates her
BETHANY Platt will discover Nathan Curtis' sick plan to sell her abroad as a sex slave and fight back in Coronation Street.
The schoolgirl - who is played by actress Lucy Fallon in the ITV soap - will be rushed to a ferry with Nathan thinking they will run away together, but when she realises his vile plan, she will find enough strength to fight back.
"Bethany will show a lot of courage and do something very difficult," actor Chris Harper, who plays Nathan, revealed.
"She is actually very clever. I think it's the moment everyone has been waiting for. Bethany jumps out of the frying pan and into the fire, but the end of Nathan's evil control is in sight."
He added: "Nathan is going to leave Bethany high and dry with a 'friend' of his. He is going to wash his hands of her and move on. She's been a lot of trouble and this is his last chance to cash in on her.
"As ever, Nathan lies to her about his desire to be together and the strength of his love, telling her that they're eloping to the continent. But he doesn't do a very thorough job, and takes her compliance for granted.
"Nathan is trying to control Bethany through both flattery and fear, but now the clock is against him too. He thinks he's clever enough to play this game, but things are starting to get very sticky.

"He thinks if he keeps tightening his grip on Bethany she will comply, but it starts to have the opposite effect. It's his arrogance that leads her to start to question him – he stops listening to her."
It seems Nathan will be undone by florist assistant Mary Taylor who will recognise what is happening with Bethany and fight to save her as Nathan tries to take her away.
In emotional scenes, Mary will desperately try to stop Bethany from fleeing with Nathan after finding her preparing to flee the cobbles with evil Nathan.
Rape survivor Mary will plead with the teen to see the light, and battle with Nathan as he arrives to drive her away.
Comparing Bethany’s abuse at the hands of Nathan and his sick pals to her own rape, Mary tries everything to keep her from leaving.
Her desperate attempts to save her don’t work and Bethany pushes her out of the way, convinced the man she loves wouldn’t harm her again.
But as she leaves, Mary runs into the Rovers to alert the Platts as Bethany herself begins to question Nathan's plan.
