ITV cancels fan favourites for extended news coverage

THIS Morning, Jeremy Kyle and Loose Women have been cancelled tomorrow to make way for the General Election results.

Holly Willoughby confirmed the ITV daytime show would be off air and would be replaced with “extended news coverage”.

Loose Women and Jeremy Kyle have also been taken off Friday's scheduling.

An extended version of the news is expected to run late into the afternoon following the cancellations.

Lorraine will also be off air but will be replaced with a special length episode of Good Morning Britain, which will be live on ITV until 9:35am.

Susanna and Piers - who is usually off on Fridays - will host a three-hour special of Good Morning Britain

Susanna Reid - who presents GMB alongside outspoken Piers Morgan - took to her Twitter page to share the news and wrote: "Special, extended @gmb announced for General Election results coverage on Friday June 9.

"@piersmorgan and I will be at the desk 6-9.25am."

On hearing the news, one fan quipped: "At least you've got time to get a new sidekick in."

Although some loved the idea of having more time with Susanna and Piers, some viewers of the popular ITV shows weren't impressed about them going off air.

It's the second time Lorraine has been cancelled this week, as the show was taken off air on Monday for coverage of the London Bridge terror attack.
