Joe Wicks has ‘no time’ to star on Strictly Come Dancing as he’s busy trying to smash a world record

Fitness guru said he would be open to appearing on the BBC reality show in the future

Fitness guru Joe Wicks has reportedly signed up for the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing

JOE Wicks won't be appearing on Strictly Come Dancing this year as he's busy writing two new books and hoping to break a world record.

The Daily Star reported the self-titled Body Coach would star on the upcoming series but sources close to Joe have rubbished these claims.

An insider told the Sun Online: "Joe is simply too busy to take on Strictly.

"It's a massive commitment and he just doesn't have the time right now.

"He's writing two new books, has a series with Channel 4 and is holding the world's largest HIIT session in Hyde Park on July 5.

"He's working on getting 5,000 people to do a work out together to smash the world record and that's a massive undertaking, let alone everything else he's doing.

"His year is just crazy so unfortunately he can't do Strictly this year".

The news comes just a week after Joe admitted to previously turning down the option of appearing on the BBC reality show during an appearance on Loose Women.

Joe was visibly taken aback when Robbie Williams's wife Ayda Field asked if he would ever appear on the show.

He replied: "How do you know about that? Who told you I was asked about that?

"I mean, I was asked [but] it's not something I want to do right now.

"But who knows in the future?"

The fitness guru said he had too much on his plate and wanted to focus on his business.

He added: "I'm too focused on doing what I'm doing with the online stuff and the workouts and trying to get the school kids exercising.

"I've got so much to do and that is a massive time commitment doing that. At the moment I'm just going to stick to what I do which is getting everyone leaner."

However, Joe exclusively told The Sun at the National Television Awards in January that he would love to do the show if he could clear his schedule.

He told us: "They have asked and I’d love to do it but I’m so busy so I’m trying to clear up the time.

"We’ll see but I have my fingers crossed that I can make it work."

We could see him swapping his trainers for dancing shoes in the years to come.
