Big Brother officially announces ‘exciting’ twist to launch show tonight – and very different diary room chair
BIG Brother 2017 will kick off tonight and the public will get to choose the final housemate to enter the compound.
The chosen one will become the "People's Housemate" - a person of power in the house who will have access to the outside world.
It's likely that the selected housemate's privileges will soon irk their rival contestants as the confines of the house begin to take their toll.
Big Brother bosses have also revealed the first look at this year's Diary Room chair - which has a very vintage feel.
Like something you'd find in grandma's living room, the large armchair is covered in a floral print and immersed in a rural landscape complete with real grass.
It fits in perfectly with the remainder of the house which has been given a quaint English makeover.
The first six contestants from the new series have already been revealed, and there are some familiar faces including Louie Spence's nephew Lotan Carter.
The Sun exclusively revealed the launch night twist last week, breaking down how the final housemate will be chosen.

Like a politician, the wannabe contestants will have to state their case to the viewers, after already auditioning for show producers in order to have the chance of reality TV stardom.
They are each allotted an earnest piece-to-camera segment and have a limited amount of time to plug their best characteristics promising viewers what they can bring to the show – whether it’s romance, laughter or drama.
A telly insider revealed: “Big Brother bosses are really running with the election fever of the country this year and mocking up housemates as political party leaders. Like a real-life politician the hopeful housemates will have to convince the public to vote for them with a convincing speech.
“It will all be filmed live so they will be under pressure not to fluff up their speeches. It will be an exciting twist to the opening night shenanigans.”
Find out who'll make the cut in tonight’s live launch from 8.30pm on Channel 5.
