The pair haven’t always seen eye to eye, with Liam previously labelling Coldplay a “bunch of students” and comparing frontman Chris to a “geography teacher”.

On stage however, they came together to perform for the packed out crowd at the Old Trafford cricket ground.

Before the song started, Liam told the crowd: “Right, I want to dedicate this song to the beautiful people who were killed and injured in the Manchester terror attack.”

Liam stood front and centre during the performance as Chris played the guitar next to him.
