Piers Morgan backtracks on his previous comments about Ariana Grande as he praises her for One Love concert
The Good Morning Britain host said the singer had put on a 'fabulous show'
PIERS Morgan has praised Ariana Grande’s One Love Manchester concert - following his previous criticism of the star.
Last month, the outspoken Good Morning Britain presenter sparked controversy by questioning why Ariana didn't visit her injured fans in hospital after the Manchester bombing.
But the presenter was full of admiration for Ariana after seeing her perform at tonight's One Love Manchester tribute concert.
He tweeted: "I thought Ariana Grande was wrong to fly off after #Manchesterattacks. But tonight she's putting on a fabulous show."
Shortly after the bombing, Piers tweeted that Ariana should have visited her injured fans in hospital like the Queen did.
He sparked controversy after Katy Perry tweeted an image of the monarch chatting to injured Millie Robson, 15, writing: “God bless The Queen and her kind heart.”
The Good Morning Britain host seized on the tweet, replying: “Agreed. Might have been nice if @ArianaGrande had stayed to do the same.”
Ariana since delighted many of her injured fans by visiting them at the Manchester Children's Hospital on Friday night.
Piers also praised Ariana's vocal performance at the concert which also featured Miley Cyrus, The Black Eyed Peas, Take That and Robbie Williams.
He tweeted: "I'll say this too about @Ariana Grande, she has a cracking voice. By far the best vocal performance tonight..."
A suicide bomber killed 22 of Ariana's fans while dozens more were injured after a device was detonated in the foyer of the Manchester Evening News Arena at the end of her concert last month.
