When asked about his daughter, Peter said: "My daughter was at the Ariana Grande on Monday. We got the call immediately from her to say luckily she managed to get out.

"She was trampled and she ended up in hospital on crutches for a short while. She's okay now.

He continued: "We've been working through the week and it's been awful to see everything."

The 61-year-old continued: "She spent the whole night watching footage and then the second night we had to turn it off because she was started to get a bit obsessed.

"But she's much better now and she's sat right out there. It's a wonderful of showing that we're standing together and we're going to work together to beat everything that is thrown at us."

Peter praised the occasion and all those who made the concert happen as he said: "The way everyone has worked to bring this together has been wonderful. i think Ariana has handled herself very well.

"As a musician the last thing you ever want to do is have that happen at a concert and you feel ultimately responsible, she's done a fantastic job."
