AMERICA'S Got Talent viewers were stunned by the latest performance by a 12-year-old ventriloquist — who not only spoke for her puppet, but sang.
Darci Lynne bagged a golden buzzer pass from Mel B thanks to her astonishing skills, with the former Spice Girl telling her: "You made my heart melt."
For her audition, Darci and her rabbit pal Petunia sang jazz classic Summertime, and received a standing ovation from everyone in the venue, including Simon Cowell.
When the golden buzzer confetti began to fall she clasped her hand to her mouth, screamed and jumped up and down for joy.
Before performing, the Okhlahoma City nativa said: “I want to keep ventriloquism alive because it’s not common, you know?”
And afterwards, Mel B gushed: "You know what? I think your puppet I’m guessing is very much like you, charming and adorable...
“You make my heart melt, you were brilliant. I’m trying to describe how amazing it was."
Darci had been given the rabbit toy for her 10th birthday by her mum, who thought it might help her overcome her painful shyness.
The blonde school girl is the first golden buzzer act of this series of America's Got Talent, which is judged by Simon, Mel, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel.
Ventriloquists have featured occasionally on the UK equivalent of the show Britain's Got Talent, notably in 2013.
