Matt Goss is the first celebrity to sign up for Strictly Come Dancing after performing on Christmas special
MATT Goss has signed up for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing, The Sun Online can exclusively reveal.
The Bros superstar will be strutting his stuff on the famous dance floor to compete for the glitterball trophy after previously taking part in the 2013 Christmas special.
"Matt is an amazing coup for Strictly," a source told The Sun Online exclusively.
"Bosses were keen to sign him up after he impressed in the Christmas special and he will definitely be a favourite with viewers.
"He's one of the best performers in music so he could go all the way and win it."
Matt, who sold millions of records in the 80s as a member of Bros, is the first star to be confirmed for the new series of the megahit BBC ballroom dancing show.
He previously competed in the 2013 Christmas special alongside professional dancer Aliona Vilani.
The pair danced the American smooth together before winning 35 points from the judges, though he was beaten by comedian Rufus Hound when the studio audience votes were counted.
However, his singing career brought him back to the show for last year's Christmas special where he performed the song White Christmas and was a hit with viewers and show bosses.
The source added: "It was a no-brainer to sign him up, he's definitely going to be the eye-candy for the mums with his looks.
"He's a massive sex symbol with a huge fan base across the world for both his music and his hunky looks so he bring in even more viewers."
A BBC spokesman said: “We do not comment on speculation.”
The Sun Online has approached Matt's reps for comment.
- Strictly will return to BBC One later this year
