How old is Mark Owen, what’s the Soccer Aid star’s net worth, which Take That songs did he perform and how many children does he have?
FANS have followed Mark Owen's journey with Take That from boy band to man band, and his transition from one of the most fancied men on the planet to doting dad and husband.
He has been with Take That through thick and thin, but which well-known songs did he sing and what does he do when he's away from the band? Here's everything you need to know...
Who is Mark Owen?
Mark is from Oldham in Lancashire, where his mum worked in a bakery while his dad was a decorator.
Though he's been a hugely successful singer for years, as a kid he wasn't too interested in music and had trials at Manchester United and Rochdale football clubs.
When that didn't work out he ended up taking more of an interest in a music career, and joined smash boy band Take That alongside Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams, Howard Donald, and Jason Orange.
The band's 2010 album is the fastest-selling in British music history and they have sold over 45 million records worldwide.
He's also involved in charity work and is a patron for Beyond Autism, which provides support for families and carers of autistic people and helps to train those working with autistic people.
Mark also participated in charity football match Soccer Aid in 2012 and 2014, raising money for UNICEF by playing on the England team alongside Olly Murs and John Bishop.
Which Take That songs did Mark Owen sing?
Along with Howard Donald and Gary Barlow, Mark Owen has been in every single Take That song, and a member of the band since they first shot to fame in 1989.
Gary was always the main singer in Take That but Mark did lead vocals on some of their big hits too, such as:
- Babe
- Up All Night
- Believe
- Shine
- Hold Up A Light
- Love Love
- The Day After Tomorrow
Will there be a Take That reunion and is Mark Owen going to be involved?
Along with Gary and Howard, Mark revealed he has grand plans for a 30th anniversary reunion of the band, with all five original members involved.
The trio are hoping to convince Jason Orange and Robbie Williams to come back on board for the man band's three-decade anniversary.
Gary exclusively told The Sun's Dan Wootton: "I don't think anything we do with Rob is going to relate to like a big 25-year project.
"In fact, I'll tell you this for the first time, we're looking at 30 years.
"We're planning something to do for the 30-year all together. We're looking that far ahead, something big, maybe a new record, maybe a greatest hits with a big tour."
Howard added: "A five-piece would be incredible. Whether that ever happens or not, that’s a different story. My gut's telling me no. I'd love it to happen.
"That's the nice thing, that we can all hope it will happen but, you know, no pressure on anybody to do anything."
Mark has always been part of the band and it doesn't seem like he has any intention to give that up any time soon.
Who is Mark Owen married to and does he have children?
Mark met TV actress Emma Ferguson in 2004, and the pair were engaged in 2006 after being together for two years. They got married in November 2009 in a church in Cawdor, Scotland.
They have three children together: a son, Elwood Jack, born in 2006, and two daughters, Willow Rose, born in 2008, and Fox India, born in 2012.
They have a solid marriage now but have not always been happy together.
In 2010 Mark admitted to cheating on his wife with up to ten different women when he was on Take That's reunion tour following their comeback album 'Beautiful World'.
One affair had begun in 2004, around the same time he began dating Emma. Mark met up with account manager Neva Hanley repeatedly during his relationship with his wife, reportedly including shortly before his baby girl was born in 2008.
Emma was completely betrayed by Mark's infidelity, telling friends she didn't recognise him and wasn't sure they could get past the problem. But in the end she forgave him - and Mark has said he's "relieved" and "grateful" that they were able to work out their differences and stay together.
With Mark's unfaithful past is firmly behind him, he and Emma seem happier than ever.
What is the Soccer Aid star's net worth?
Reports estimate Mark is worth between £20 - £35 million.
We can't say for certain, but Mark has been known to flash the cash. In 2010, he paid £2 million for Emma's dream home amid his cheating revelations, which helped salvage their relationship.
And you'd expect a huge boy band star like Mark Owen to be pretty well paid!
