Who is Dominic Lever? Love Island 2017 contestant who married Jess Shears in secret
DOMINIC Lever might have been booted out of the villa but his Love Island story hasn't ended there.
Here's everything you need to know about the lovesick islander who got 'married' live on ITV's Good Morning Britain to fellow islander Jessica Shears – but has now tied the knot for real.
Who is Dominic Lever, where is he from and what does he do?
Dominic Lever is a British star of Love Island’s 2017 series.
The 28-year-old is from Manchester and described himself as a “serial dater” before joining the show.
Before becoming a reality TV star, Dominic's occupation was a careers adviser and he reportedly also worked for Selfridges in the past.
His early social media snaps hinted at a burning desire to be a male model as they involved lots of pouting in high street garb.
What is Dom's relationship with Jess Shears?
Dom got with Jess on the first day of Love Island.
They became the first couple to have sex on the show, after Dom wrote a soppy poem for her.
The romp, which happened on Jessica’s birthday, attracted a record number of viewers, and Kem and Amber had sex on the same day.
Despite a little wobble when Dom upset Jess by telling her he preferred her naked, they stayed together after the second recoupling.
After just over two weeks, Jessica was dumped from the villa by the boys in a shocking twist of fate that also saw new boy Mike get booted.
New love Dom struggled after learning Jess would be sent home and said: “Even when I broke up with my ex it didn’t feel like this. It’s killing me.”
Jessica told tearful Dom to “stay strong” and “have fun”, before saying she’d dump Dom if he got with another girl in the villa.
While on the show Dom was told that Jess hooked up with Mike Thalassitis. But he didn't want to believe it.
After they returned to England, Dom and Jess's relationship has gone from strength to strength – and they got engaged at the beginning of September.
And, in true reality star fashion, they got 'married' on live TV on Valentine's Day 2018, keeping to their Love Island roots in white swimwear.
They tied the knot on Good Morning Britain with Richard Arnold overseeing the ceremony.
The Sun exclusively revealed that Dom and Jess' real wedding is set to take place in Greece in summer 2018.
Once they're married, the couple will return to their new home in Devon which they moved to earlier this year to focus on their relationship.
On October 29, 2018, the two revealed they had got secretly married on the Greek island of Mykonos with just close friends and family.
Dom told : “People said we wouldn't last but now we're husband and wife.
“We're proof that when you meet the right person, there's no need to hang around.”
