EMMERDALE fans let out a sigh of relief on tonight's show after Robert and Aaron vow to continue to fight for their relationship - after Rob tells Aaron everything about his illicit one night stand with ex, Rebecca.
In the first of a two episode stint of the ITV soap tonight, After the pair move into their new home, Rob decides that enough was enough and after months of secrecy finally told Aaron that he had slept with Rebecca out of anger when he was in jail.
Rob and Aaron then had a furious showdown where all the issues they'd been hiding from each other were laid out - including Rob's inability to stay faithful and Aaron's issues with drugs while he was in prison.
He also revealed that Rebecca had fallen pregnant after the one-nighter - but she had had an abortion (or so he thinks).
During one moment, Aaron even removed his wedding ring and declared to his husband that his marriage was over - before apparently disappearing with the neck of a broken bottle.
However, in the second half of the episode, the devastated pair found their way back to each other again - and Aaron revealed that instead of lashing out, he'd gone to see his councillor.
They then went on to clear the air and vowed to start their life afresh and free of secrets as they continue to get their marriage on track.
Robert then admitted: "You turn things on yourself I turn on other people – I wreck the things that matter most."
Troubled Aaron later surprised his other half and said: "I don’t want to punish you – I want to forgive you. I want to try and forgive you."
As the pair cleared the air, the vulnerable characters then admitted that they weren't used to people sticking around despite their flaws, or forgiving them for their faults.
Aaron then tells Robert: "I think we’ve both proved we’re rubbish without each other don’t you? We start again, no more hurting each other ok? and no one else."
As they curled up with each other on the floor of their new house, Aaron then mutters: "I love you," to which a relieved Robert replied: "I love you more."
But it might not be as simple as they had hoped - as elsewhere in the village, Rebecca admits to her sister Chrissie that she's going to keep her baby, despite initially telling Robert she was going to get an abortion.
Will Robron be able to survive this latest hurdle?
