The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood, 69, undergoes lung surgery ahead of milestone 70th and his daughters’ first birthday
The rocker is said to be 'feeling fine' after the hospital procedure
ROLLING Stones rocker Ronnie Wood has undergone keyhole lung surgery a week before his twin daughters turned one and shortly ahead of his milestone 70th birthday.
The musician, 69, is "feeling fine" after being admitted into hospital for the procedure to fix a small wound ahead of the band's European tour.
A representative for the star "no additional treatment" was needed.
The sprightly dad gave up smoking before his new arrivals Gracie and Alice were born on May 30, 2016, and his lung problem was picked up during a routine scan.
The Start Me Up singer revealed: "I'm so grateful for modern screening which picked this up so early, and would like to thank all the doctors who treated me."
Ronnie, who will turn 70 on June 1, has gushed about their new family life, describing snuggles with the trio as his "idea of heaven."
Ms Humphreys, 39, and Wood were married in 2012 at an intimate ceremony attended by famous guests such as Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Rod Stewart.
Ronnie told Hello! magazine: "Any time I’m with her and the girls, that’s the best for me, nothing tops it.
“When the twins come into our bed and we’re all snuggled up together, that, for me, is wonderful – my idea of heaven. It’s special. The girls are so cuddly and gorgeous. I’m a lucky man.”
The twins are Wood’s fifth and sixth children, but his first with Ms Humphreys.
