The bomb was detonated in the foyer area of the Manchester Arena moments after Ariana Grande's concert finished.
Thousands of adults, teenagers and children screamed and fled in panic as Salman Abedi detonated a huge bomb, thought to be packed with nails and bolts.
The 22-year-old’s identity was revealed after teams of armed cops swooped on his address in Fallowfield, Manchester.
Hours after the deadly attack ISIS jihadis celebrated the “successful and surprising” attack and claimed it was “revenge for Mosul airstrikes”.
A total of 22 people died in the atrocity, including an eight-year-old girl, with 59 people left injured.

Take That were due to perform at Manchester Arena in May but saw their concerts cancelled in the wake of the horrific attack.
Concerts by acts including Celine Dion, Radiohead, Bros and Blink-182 have all either been rearranged or cancelled.
The arena is to stay shut until September due to the damage caused.
In a statement a spokesman for the venue said although they had intended to continue with the planned summer events "the damage caused to the main public area outside of the arena has left us with no other option than to remain closed until September".
The next scheduled concert is for US singer John Legend on September 16.

Who was the Manchester terror attack suicide bomber?
Cops identified the suicide bomber as 22-year-old Salman Abedi who was born in Manchester.
He was carrying an improvised explosive device which he detonated while in the foyer area moments after the pop star’s concert ended.
Witnesses told how nuts and bolts were sent flying in the blast at the foyer area as fans made their way to Manchester Victoria train station next door.
