When are the Andrew Neil Interviews on BBC One tonight, which leader is being interviewed and what’s the format?

THE ELECTION is now just days away and, as the campaign ramps up, the BBC has been giving our political leaders the chance to put their pleas forward.

The Andrew Neil Interviews were postponed following the terror attack in Manchester, but have now been rescheduled, with the final one airing TONIGHT.

When will the Andrew Neil Interviews air?

Due to the terror attack in Manchester - and subsequent break in election campaigning - some of the shows were postponed.

Theresa May's interview was aired as scheduled on Monday 22 May while Jeremy Corbyn's was aired on May 26.

Nicola Sturgeon appeared on Sunday May 28 to tell Andrew Neil that

UKIP's Paul Nuttall's interview was shown on Monday May 29 and he said he “wouldn’t take anything off the table” when it came to dealing with the threat of violent extremism.

Only Lib Dem leader Tim Farron's interview is yet to take place. It is scheduled to air tonight (June 1) at 7pm on BBC One.

How can I watch the Andrew Neil Interviews?

The Andrew Neil interviews are being shown on BBC One in the run up to the general election.

Each episode repeats at 10.30pm the same day on BBC Parliament, and on BBC News Channel and half-past midnight the following day.

They will also be available to watch for free on BBC iPlayer, provided you have a TV licence, and can be seen.

What's the format of the Andrew Neil Interviews?

Veteran journalist Andrew Neil is spending time with the five party leaders individually to grill them on their party's manifesto.

Theresa May, Paul Nuttall, Tim Farron, Nicola Sturgeon and Jeremy Corbyn are all being put in the spotlight.

Each interview lasts half an hour and is being hosted as part of the channel's election programming.

Who is Andrew Neil?

Andrew Neil is a 68-year-old Scottish political journalist and former editor of The Sunday Times.

He is also the presenter for BBC's politically charged shows including Sunday Politics and Daily Politics on BBC2.

The presenter was also anchor of the overnight live coverage of the 2016 US Presidential election.

When is the UK general election?

The UK general election will be held on Thursday, June 8.

Theresa May announced the decision to go ahead with the election despite it being three years earlier than scheduled.

Anyone over the age of 18, registered to vote and a British citizen is eligible to vote.

Citizens include those from the Republic of Ireland and qualifying Commonwealth states are also able to vote as long as they are currently living in the UK.

British citizens living abroad can apply for an overseas vote.
