Ruth Langsford forced to cancel This Morning Live appearance due to mystery ‘family illness’
The much-loved TV presenter sparked concerns from fans with a shock tweet
RUTH Langsford has been forced to cancel her appearance on This Morning Live today due to a "family illness".
The much-loved TV star, 57, was due to appear at the live event in Birmingham alongside her husband Eamonn Holmes, but has pulled out last minute - with Rylan Clark-Neal taking her place.
She wrote on Twitter: "So sorry I can't be on stage with Eamonn @This Morning Live today - a family illness means I have to be elsewhere. I hope you understand x."
Rylan will take her place today, and tweeted: "Due to a change in the schedule am on my way back to Birmingham to host #TMLive with @EamonnHolmes . Round 3. Let's have ya!"
Eamonn responded shortly after: "Now there's a Sunday Bonus ! Looking forward to it mate."
A spokesperson for This Morning Live said: “Unfortunately due to family illness, Ruth isn’t able to attend This Morning Live today.”
The live show features everything from catwalk shows to chats with the This Morning celebrities.
Fans were quick to share their concern, as one commented on Twitter: "Sending love xxxxx," while one added: "Oh no. Thinking of you xxxx."
One added: "Oh dear, hope all is ok?"
And one wrote: "Sorry to hear this..wishing them well... x."
The pair have been in high spirits on set in recent days, and make-up artist Bryony Blake shared a short video of Eamonn driving his wife round on a mobility scooter yesterday.
Meanwhile, they first presented live from Birmingham on Thursday's show.
The presenters left their London studio and instead featured at a live event in Birmingham's NEC in a complete replica of the famous set.
Eamonn and Ruth were joined on the show by Doctor Who's Pearl Mackie as well as Spice Girl Mel C.
