The Keith & Paddy Picture Show viewers praise Phillip Schofield’s performance as Yoda in Star Wars episode
Fans are suggesting the presenter should quit This Morning and become a full time actor
FANS of Phillip Schofield were delighted to see him try his hand at acting in a hilarious sketch for The Keith & Paddy Picture Show.
The 55-year-old This Morning presenter was game for a laugh as he played Yoda in a spoof production of Star Wars.
In the sketch - which aired on ITV on Saturday night - the TV star had been painted green, dressed in robes, and had Yoda ears strapped to his head to transform into the iconic sci-fi character.
He shuffled around as Keith Lemon (real name Leigh Francis) dressed and performed as Luke Skywalker.
In the scene, Phil carefully recounted lines from the iconic 1980s film.
"That is a fantastic performance from Phillip Schofield there, innit?" Keith asked as cameras cut to him and Paddy McGuinness critiquing the scene.
"You know why? Because he stayed faithful to the original," Paddy declared.
But cutting back to the scene, it soon became clear Phil and Keith did divert form the original story - as Luke asked Yoda if Darth Vader truly is his father.
This led Phil as Yoda to quip: "Only one way to find out, there is. Ask Jeremy Kyle. He has the results of the paternity test" - with the cameras then showing Jezza sitting in the corner.
Viewers at home loved the TV moment and praised Phil for his work.
"Don't even like Star Wars but @Schofe as Yoda is amazing," tweeted one converted fan.
"Wasted as a tv presenter mr schofield😂" laughed another on Twitter.
While another still suggested Phil's performance was award worthy, tweeting: "@Schofe tremendous performance as Yoda, I can see another award coming #BAFTA".
