The Shooting Stars comedy duo will be back together in the new sketch show
VIC and Bob are BACK and ready to put their unique brand of humour back on our screens one more time.
So what can we expect from Vic & Bob's Big Night Out? Here's everything we know so far...
Who are Vic and Bob?
Vic and Bob are a comedy duo who have been working together since 1987.
They are best known for their surrealist humour and they have done over a dozen shows together, including comedy panel show Shooting Stars.
In 2000, the pair also worked together in the reboot of the comedy thriller series, Randall and Hopkirk (deceased).
Vic Reeves
Born James Moir, Vic adopted the name Vic Reeves in part thanks to him being a fan of American crooner, Jim Reeves.
The 58-year-old has been married to his wife Nancy Sorrell since 2003, and was previously married to Sarah Vincent.
He has four children.
On top of being a comedian, Vic is a keen musician, and has contributed to several single releases as well as having his own album, I Will Cure You.
He also sang the Shaun the Sheep theme song in 2007.
Bob Mortimer
Bob, 57, has been with his other half, Lisa Matthews, for 24 years, but it wasn't until October 2015 that they tied the knot.
They have two sons together, Harry and Tom.
He is a frequent contributor panel show Would I Lie to You?- which is hosted by Rob Brydon.
In October 2015, Bob had to undergo triple bypass surgery, but made a full recovery.
What is the new show Vic & Bob's Big Night Out about?
Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer are bringing their surreal stage show back to BBC Two for a special.
Vic & Bob’s Big Night Out will be a reimagining of the original Vic Reeves’ Big Night Out, which was first broadcast in 1990.
The comical stage show, was known for its wacky sense of humour and was later transferred to television with the help of Bob Mortimer.
The sketch show will be a one-off special to bring back some old favourite characters, as well as introducing new ones. It will also combine pre-recorded location sketches with ones performed in front of a live studio audience.
Surprise cameos are also guaranteed and a “very well-known television show” will be torn apart by the pair promised the BBC in their announcement of the programme.
The show will run for 30 minutes.
On the announcement, Vic and Bob said: “This is the show we wanted to perform back in the 1980s. Now the time is right. We will be increasing our respective heights in order to perform some of the more intricate and challenging moments.”
When is Big Night Out going to be on TV?
An official date for the show is yet to be confirmed.
It will however, be aired on BBC2 when it does.
The film will later be available on the channel’s streaming site, BBC iPlayer.
It is free to use as long as you have a TV licence.
