Viewers left disappointed as Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield fail to broadcast This Morning Live show from Birmingham
The hosts were replaced by Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Homes today
THIS Morning viewers were left disappointed by the decision not the air Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's This Morning Live show from Birmingham on Thursday.
The presenters left their London studio and instead featured at a live event in Birmingham's NEC in a complete replica of the famous set.
However fans who tuned into ITV hoping to see some of the action as it happened live today were left unimpressed when they realised they would be watching a show hosted in the normal London studio by Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes.
Introducing the show, Ruth said: "It's a very special show today. We're here in the studio because Phil and Holly are up in Birmingham at the NEC because they're taking This Morning on the road."
She continued: "It's the very first time we've done this, it's called the This Morning Live Event."
The live footage showed Holly and Phil's brand new studio and Ruth admitted she found it "spooky".
She said: "That's amazing. That's absolutely a complete replica of the studio."
However fans let made their feelings about not seeing all the action live clear as one tweeted: "What's the point of this morning live if they are hardly showing it on the tv? #thismorning."
Another wrote: "Disappointed #thismorning is live in Birmingham, but I’m still seeing Eamonn and Ruth on me tele."
One viewer asked: "Is it just me who thought #thismorninglive was going to be on TV with the live crowd rather than just normal #thismorning on tv?!"
Another admitted: “I’d rather just watch them live in Birmingham on the TV than watching Eamonn #ThisMorning.”
Eamonn and Ruth were joined on the show by Doctor Who's Pearl Mackie as well as Spice Girl Mel C.
