STRICTLY Come Dancing host Tess Daly has said that she thinks new straight-talking head judge Shirley Ballas will keep Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood in check during the live shows.

The presenter, 48, opened up about what she thought of the new addition to the BBC show's panel during an appearance on Lorraine this morning.

Last week The Sun exclusively revealed that ballroom star Shirley Ballas would be replacing Len Goodman on the panel.

And while some stars are reportedly less pleased about the decision than others, host Tess has said that thrilled with the decision.

Tess, who presents the dancing competition alongside Claudia Winkleman, also revealed that she would love to take part as a contestant.

Speaking to Lorraine Kelly, she said that she thought Shirley would keep the male judges "in line".

Tess said: "I can't wait to see! She's going to keep those two boys in order."

She added that she "couldn't wait to see another lady" on the panel.

When asked whether she would like to be a contestant, she admitted: "There is a part of me that would love to have a go".
