Eamonn Holmes shares brilliant throwback snaps of him and wife Ruth Langsford as the pair prepare to host This Morning

Fabulous throwback pictures of the hilarious presenter duo come complete with mullet and shoulder pads.

THEY are the King and Queen of daytime TV and as Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford prepare to take over hosting duties on This Morning, Eamonn's shared some brilliant throwback snaps of their early days in journalism.

Embracing the questionable fashions of the era, Eamonn and Ruth are outshone by their incredible hair styles. Who doesn't love a mullet?

While Ruth could be the fifth member of ABBA, Eamonn looks more like a young Paul McCartney in the throwback snaps that have had fans of the bubbly duo in hysterics.

Eamonn captioned the tweet: "The News today is.... @RuthieeL and Me hosting @thismorning for the rest of the week. Hope you can tune in. (sic)"

Coronation Street's Cath Tyldesley tweeted: "These pics are amazing! X" while This Morning's resident chef Phil Vickery commented: "You see a mullet is cool!!"

Eamonn and Ruth - both 57-years-old - will be standing in for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on This Morning where recent interviews have included Caitlyn Jenner.

During her debut appearance on the show, Caitlyn revealed to Ruth and Eamonn that she'll be playing Melania Trump in an upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live.

Eamonn complimented Caitlyn on her youthful looks. He told the 67-year-old LGBT activist: "You know, you're a younger woman than Bruce was a man."

Clearly enjoying the somewhat backhanded compliment, Caitlyn responded: "I appreciate that and I have to agree with you on that one. Thanks. I am just more comfortable this way."

Yesterday Ruth made headlines after revealing Eamonn is "great" in bed while hosting Loose Women.

The discussion started as when sex and relationships expert Annabelle Knight stopped by for a chat after a survey revealed one in five women weren’t happy with their sex lives.

Speaking about the report, Ruth said: “They mention various things but they often don’t mention that maybe their partner’s not very good.

“Possibly, I’m just throwing that one out there.”

As the Loose Women audience started to laugh, Coleen Nolan told her: “Eamonn’s good,” to which Ruth quickly replied: “Eamonn’s great!”
