Richard Madeley spotted making a mad dash to buy wife Judy Finnigan a birthday card… on her actual birthday
The telly presenter, 61, has been married to his other half for three decades - yet seemed a little confused about her birth date
RICHARD Madeley might have been married to TV presenter wife Judy Finnigan for the past 31 years - yet it seems he STILL can't remember her birthday.
The former This Morning host, 61, was spotted looking rather perplexed making a last-minute dash to a card shop yesterday, bang on the date Judy turned 69.
Dad-of-two Richard was seen slinging a rucksack over his shoulders as he scooted into a store with the hoarding Toys, Parties, Cards above the door.
He seemed eager to go unnoticed, dressing down in blue jeans and a white top and wearing sunglasses.
The sharp-talking journalist was spotted striding with intent away from the shop and later seen carrying plastic bags crammed with goodies.
Bumbling Richard also made a trip to a store called Shutlers, which looked to sell cookware, before heading towards his car.
He ruffled his hair with his hand and seemed confused as he considered something while crossing the road.
Perhaps given the products sold in-store, he was planning a slap-up brunch for bubbly Judy, after later stopping for groceries from Marks and Spencer.
He paid the parking meter before driving home armed with his hastily-bought purchases.
Luckily, Richard to have fully recovered from his broken arm - leaving him free to juggle his spree for Judy, who was by his side during his speedy return to full health.
The TV favourite suffered the injury after slipping on ice near his London home earlier this year.
Opening up about his nasty fall, Richard shared a snap on Twitter of the cast and wrote: “They say there’s a 1st time for everything. So today I broke my arm falling on ice! Went down hard+smashed it! Op tomoz. ‘Sigh’….
“Ta all for good wishes. Worse things happen. Just incredibly inconvenient.”
He added: “Lucky it was the left one and weirdly it’s still pretty functional. But as Lennon said: ‘Life’s what happens when you’re making other plans’.”
Alongside the snap, he wrote: “My personal ‘snap’ of the day. Titanium plates await!”
Meanwhile the loved-up couple were spotted enjoying a date night at a London pub recently - where cheeky Richard snuck out a bottle of wine wrapped in his newspaper.
