How I Met Your Mother producer hints it could be coming back
The hit US sitcom ended back in 2014 after nine seasons
US sitcom How I Met Your Mother could be making a comeback.
Chairman of 20th Century Fox Dana Walden said she hopes for a TV return to the adventures of the six New York City friends.
She told a press conference on Monday: "I hope we will have an opportunity to revisit these characters and tell these stories if [the creators and stars] have the desire to do it.
"It's a beloved show that still continues to be popular all over the world."
The show, which was likened to Friends, followed Ted (Josh Radnor) as he explained the story of how he met the mother of his children.
How I Met Your Mother co-starred Neil Patrick Harris as womaniser Barney, Jason Segal as Ted's best pal Marshall, Cobie Smulders as news anchor Robin and Alyson Hannigan as Marshall's wife Lily.
However, fans shouldn't get their hopes up just yet.
Neil recently didn't seem to optimistic about the reunion, while other cast members have since moved on to other projects.
He recently told Watch What Happens Live: "Everyone's kind of gone off and are doing their own stuff."
Cobie is currently starring in Netflix comedy Friends From College while Neil stars in the TV adaptation of A Series Of Unfortunate Events.
