TWEEN THE SHEETS

Inbetweeners stars reunite for new outrageous comedy White Gold promising X-rated scenes, bad language and nudity

INBETWEENERS stars Joe Thomas and James Buckley have reunited for a new sitcom involving just as much sex, foul language and penis gags as the school-set show that made them famous.

James, who played wannabe womaniser Jay, and Joe, who played the hapless Simon, have now become double glazing salesman from Essex for the 1980s-set comedy White Gold.

The BBC show also stars Gossip Girl's Ed Westwick, who plays Vincent, boss of Cachet Windows and the man in charge of Joe and James' characters, Lavender and Fitzpatrick.

Written by Inbetweeners creator Damon Beesley, the show involves X-rated scenes like James' character flashing his willy to prove how large it is, plus a group visit to a dogging hot-spot.

Easily-offended viewers best bear in mind there are also a few racist jokes in the mix, about the Irish and those with "slanty eyes".

Creator Damon defended these, saying: "The show is set in the 1980s and the lines are of that era.

"We are not going to use them gratuitously.

"The characters who make these comments are picked up about their behaviour."

"I do like flagrant swearing and bad language,"; he added.

Meanwhile James, 29, has been very popular with casting scouts as he took the lead in fantasy comedy series Zapped, as well as playing a younger version of David Jason's Del Boy.

He's also now a firm friend of EastEnders star Danny Dyer, so perhaps he could persuade the soap star to appear in the next part of the Inbetweeners saga, which Joe claims could definitely happen.

White Gold kicks off on BBC Two on Wednesday May 24th at 10pm.
