Cara De La Hoyde found out she was pregnant THREE DAYS after her cousin died of cancer, as she shows off first hint of baby bump
CARA De La Hoyde found out she was pregnant just three days after her cousin tragically died of cancer.
The Sun revealed this morning that the Love Island beauty is expecting her first child with ex-boyfriend Nathan Massey, just weeks after we confirmed they had split.
In an interview with , the Cara, 26, admitted her happy news came in the wake of a devastating family event.
She said: "Me and Nathan would always speak about kids, we said maybe when we're 30, but sometimes life doesn't go to plan.
"It was overwhelming and came when my family was going through a hard time.
"We found out I was pregnant three days after my 19-year-old cousin passed away from cancer."
Cara's cousin had been ill for two years and described his death as "awful".
She continued: "I'm not superstitious, but my family and I are looking at it like we've been given a new life after one was taken away.
"I know it sounds cliche but I believe things like this are meant to be."
Cara insists she has no plans to reconcile with Nathan despite the impending arrival – but he has vowed to support her every step of the way when the baby arrives.
The former Towie star told : “It’s a shame and a sad situation. I know a lot of people will think, well you’re going to have a baby together so just stay together – but we’re not going to do that just to look like the perfect couple."

The couple split in April after a string of "silly rows", as exclusively revealed by The Sun's Bizarre column.
“It hasn’t been an easy decision but in the end they decided things would be better apart.
“They stayed really amicable and will definitely do all they can to be friendly.”
Nathan had previously admitted that the pair had been arguing after moving in together.
He said: “There have been arguments. I’m not the easiest person to live with.
“But you forget we’ve only known each other for six months.”
In the accompanying photoshoot for OK!, Cara cradled her tiny bump, which has already become more visible than when she was pictured on holiday in Cape Verde two weeks ago.
Wearing a white halterneck bikini, Cara showed no hint of a bump as she paraded around the beach, at one point adding a bright green sarong, which she tied around her waist.
Heading for a dip in the sea, still showed no signs that she was with child, despite the fact she is now 12 weeks along.
She told OK!: "I loved it [the holiday] but trying to hide the bump and being around people partying when you're not is quite hard to keep up with!
"I was like 'Oh my God, I've been in the proximity of someone drinking alcohol, what if I'm breathing in the particles?!"
