Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst undergoes another radical transformation and ditches glamorous dresses for jumpsuits and trousers
EUROVISION champ Conchita Wurst has ditched the glamorous, feminised side of her ego by embracing boiler suits, baggy trousers, t-shirts and trilby hats.
The bearded Austrian drag artist, who's real name is Thomas Neuwirth, won the singing competition in 2014 with hit Rise Like A Phoenix while dressed in a golden gown.
Now the LGBTQIA activist and beauty blogger has admitted she thinks it's time her persona Conchita was "killed off" so Tom can emerge.
This feeling is being reflected in the singer's wardrobe choices, which are recorded on Instagram, more and more.
In recent weeks Conchita, 28, has worn a Top Gun-style boiler suit, a black leather biker outfit, tailored suits and shirts with pinstriped trousers, among other typically masculine get-ups.
With her hair still coiffed to perfection and make-up in place, it seems Conchita has drifted away from her diva image and back to masculine garb since releasing her first, self-titled album in 2015.
Tom recently told German newspaper Die Welt: "I feel like I want to create a new person… without the bearded lady.
"I have achieved everything I wanted since the Song Contest victory.
“[Tom] wants to get out, show himself.
Referring to Conchita, he added dramatically: "I have to kill her.”
But former boyband member Tom doesn't look that homicidal in pictures from 2008, during the time he appeared on Austrian talent show Starmania, and before Conchita took over his public persona.
Regardless of her changing style, Gmunden-born Conchita must be content with her career, which is going from strength to strength.
Having performed at the Sydney Opera House, Conchita is now in Austria rehearsing for the opening of Wiener Festwochen 2017, which will see her perform with the Vienna Symphony.
Meanwhile, three years on from Conchita's Eurovision Song Contest victory, Austria is being represented this year by someone a lot more stereotypical in looks, Nathan Trent.
The UK is being represented by Lucie Jones, a Cardiff former X Factor hopeful who'll be belting out her tune Never Give Up On You.
