SPOILER ALERT – Coronation Street’s Sarah is horrified as Bethany stabs Gary!
Dancing On Ice is back on our screens, but how long will the celebrity skaters stay safe?
Sarah is furious when, after arranging to meet Bethany at a wedding fair, her daughter is a no-show.
She storms round to Nathan’s flat to get an explanation, but stumbles on far more than she bargained for.
“The door to the flat is open so Sarah goes in and finds Bethany drunk and dressed provocatively,” explains Tina O’Brien, who plays the concerned mother.
What Sarah doesn’t know is that Nathan has plied her daughter with alcohol so she will ‘entertain’ his creepy mate Ian, and has left her alone while he goes to get his pal.
“Sarah demands to know why Bethany is so drunk and, as they argue, Bethany passes out on the sofa,” Tina reveals.
“Sarah can’t get any response from her and is in a real panic. She has seen a text from Nathan saying he is on his way back, so she rings Gary and asks him to hurry up and come to the flat to get Bethany home, as she can’t move her on her own.”
But when Bethany later comes round at No.8, all hell breaks loose.
“She panics when she realises where she is and that she doesn’t have her phone,” Tina says.
“Beth tries to make a run for it but Gary blocks her way, so she starts throwing things and stabs Gary in the arm with some broken glass!
“It’s upsetting for Sarah to see her daughter in this state and she starts to wonder if she is scared of Nathan. She’s also concerned that, after removing Bethany against her will, if her daughter escapes she will never see her again…”
Aidan's affair exposed?
Aidan’s dirty little secret stands to be blown wide open after he books a clandestine hotel tryst for he and Maria.
When the hotel rings the factory to confirm the booking for a ‘Mr Connor’, Kate answers and jumps to the conclusion that Johnny is having an affair.
After seeing Johnny leave Victoria Court with an attractive woman earlier that day, she’s convinced she’s on to something and mentions it to Aidan – in front of Eva.
Panicking, Aidan confesses that it was actually him who made the booking, but claims it was meant to be a surprise for his girlfriend. As Eva stands there taking in his admission, will she believe him or will she suspect he’s cheating?
As for Kate, she’s still convinced Johnny is hiding something and goes round to speak to him.
But when her dad’s leg gives way and he collapses, will the truth come out about
his recent strange behaviour?
Leanne under fire
Poor Leanne tries to do her best, but no matter what, someone is angry with her.
This week, after Peter confides in her about his distress over the assault charges, she decides to bat for him and, along with Toyah, pays Chloe a visit to get her to revoke her allegations.
When Nick finds out, he’s angry that his fiancée stuck her neck on the line for Peter and drowns his sorrows rather than attending baby Oliver’s naming ceremony – even though he organised it without Leanne’s say so.
To make matters worse, Liz only finds out about the ceremony second-hand after Nick makes Steve feel unwelcome, and drags her son to the Bistro where she rails at Leanne for the whole mess.
The event spirals into a slanging match, and the next day things go from bad to worse for the new mum when she locks herself out of the flat with Oliver inside.
Can’t she catch a break?
