CHANGED MAN

James Argent has turned to God to help him battle his demons and is now a devout church goer

Former Towie star Arg is following a new path to help keep him on the straight and narrow

JAMES ‘Arg’ Argent has turned to Christianity in a bid to help him battle his demons.

Since returning from rehab in Thailand a fortnight ago, the former Towie star has started attending church and hopes his newfound faith will stop him from going down the wrong path.

A source told The Sun Online: “Arg has been working hard on himself and is determined to stay well.

“He’s always been a spiritual person but he found faith while he was away. It’s something he wanted to continue when he came back to the UK and now he’s attending church regularly.

“It shocked some of his mates because they had no idea he was into that but if it works for him then everyone is going to support him.”

Arg, 29, has spent the past few weeks catching up with friends and showing off his new slimmer frame – which he says is down to a healthy diet and exercise.

The Sun exclusively revealed the telly star had cut off all contact with his Towie pals and unfollowed his ex Lydia Bright and his co-stars on Instagram after checking into rehab.

He kept his followers up to date with his journey and posted multiple pictures of his time in Thailand.

Arg had  reportedly lost over a stone and was “getting mentally stronger” by the day when he was away.

His friend Jack Tweed, widow of former Big Brother star Jade Goody, also kept the former Towie veteran's fans up to date with his progress.

Jack said: “Arg is really loving it out there.

“He said he’s been doing loads of stuff like Muay Thai boxing, jungle trekking, abseiling down waterfalls and zip lining.

“He’s been eating really healthy food and he’s lost over a stone. Arg is in a really good place at the moment and I hope he keeps it up, for his sake and his family’s sake.”

The Sun Online has contacted Arg's representatives for comment.
