Jeremy McConnell CHARGED with assaulting Stephanie Davis despite the couple rekindling their romance
The pair have got back together since an incident last month, but police confirm they will still pursue the case against Jeremy
JEREMY McConnell has been CHARGED with assaulting girlfriend Stephanie Davis at her home, and will appear in court tomorrow to answer allegations he attacked her and caused criminal damage.
A police spokesman said: “Merseyside Police can confirm Jeremy, 27 years, of Swords, Ireland has been charged with assault and criminal damage following an incident in Rainhill on 9 March 2017.
"He is due to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 10 May 2017."
The couple have been seen together frequently since the incident, and Jeremy is understood to have attended rehab to deal with drink and drug use.
The Irish model was arrested in March over claims he assaulted former Hollyoaks star Stephanie.Last month Stephanie, the mother to Jeremy's baby, spoke to officers about the alleged incident – just weeks before the couple decided to give their romance another try.
The on-off couple were all smiles this weekend as they posed together on Snapchat.
Stephanie, 24, captioned the image “Family Sundays” as the pair looked close in the shot.
Just days before, the couple celebrated Jeremy being “five weeks sober” following his time away in Ireland.
They spent a month apart as Jeremy battled his demons, reuniting upon his return at Manchester airport.
Relations appeared to turn sour between the couple after Stephanie sparked concern among her followers following a tweet she posted last Wednesday.

The tweet was posted just before midnight before it was deleted 20 minutes later.
Stephanie appeared on This Morning last month to set the record straight on her very public love life.
She was quizzed by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield over taking back her lover following a nine-month estrangement and paternity battle.
Speaking about Jeremy's rehab stint, Stephanie explained there was more to his drug use than just addiction – it was grief.
She explained: “Already speaking to him there is such a difference. It breaks my heart too.
“The drug addiction – this is how we said it on the phone – was just the tip of the iceberg, it was what was underneath the water all that stuff from when he was younger and all those troubles.
“He has had to get broken down to get built up again. His priority is to be a good dad for Caben and I love him.”
Last month Jeremy's dad died from cancer, with his aunt passing away days later.
His string of tragedies has made Stephanie even more determined to make a solid home for him with their son.
