Who is Marie Thompson?
Marie Thompson is the mother of Nathan Quinn - who was a member of the Croxeth Crew from the age of 11 before being shot in the back at age 14.
During the investigation into Rhys’ murder, Nathan— then 17 — refused to speak to the police or "grass" on killer Sean Mercer.
He was already serving a five-year sentence before the trial began for trying to buy a pistol and ammunition from an underworld dealer.
Nathan was released from prison in 2011, and had been allowed to visit his sick mother for five hours a day for before that.
Marie was fiercely protective of her son, and reportedly threatened the mother of 'Boy M' - known for the sake of the show as Jordan "Latch" Olssen.
During the case the court heard how Nathan Quinn’s mum told Ms M to “Just f****** forget about it”.
She is heard to ask: “If Mercer’s got nothing to hide, why is he saying he wasn’t here?”
Marie Thompson then tells her: “Listen to me. My son was not here.”
Ms M: “They came here that night, why should I lie?”
Ms Thompson: “You’ve just got to say you got the wrong day. Just f****** forget about it.”
Mercer was also heard telling Boy M’s grandmother to change her story about the day he visited the house.
