Friends Forever

Where are The Inbetweeners cast now – and who’s done the best since the end of the show?

IT’S been 10 years since The Inbetweeners the world to Will, Simon, Neil and Jay, and their hopeless quest to find girls, flirting with grannies and harming fish.

But what are the Pussay Patrol – and the trio of gorgeous girls who had filled their fantasies – up to now?

Simon Bird

He played everyone’s favourite geek (with a fit mum) Will McKenzie.

These days Simon, 33, plays Adam Goodman in the Channel 4 comedy Friday Night Dinner.

He also starred in British indie Film, You, Me and Him and made a (drunken) appearance on Drunk History.

Speaking about his time on The Inbetweeners, Simon revealed he still gets called “w*****” on a daily basis thanks to his introduction to the show.

He said: “Bus w*****. Briefcase w*****. All the w*****,” he said. “Sometimes just plain old w*****.”

Joe Thomas

Joe played hapless Simon Cooper, known for his bad luck with the ladies and that dodgy 90s hairstyle.

He went on to star in student sitcom Fresh Meat and played a maths teacher in the second series of Threesome.

In 2017, Joe, now 34, landed a role in White Gold, a BBC2 comedy about double-glazing salesmen in the 80s, alongside fellow Inbetweener James Buckley (read on for more about him).

Blake Harrison

Blake, now 32, was the butt of all the jokes as Neil – but now he’s stretching his more dramatic muscles in other roles.

Since The Inbetweeners he has appeared in various other TV shows, including Way to Go, Him & Her, Big Bad World, The Bleak Old Shop of Stuff, Edge Of Heaven and The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret.

He also voiced Scoop in the reboot of Bob The Builder.

His film credits include Keeping Rosy, and the 2016 Dad’s Army reboot, in which he played Private Pike, Ian Lavender’s old character.

James Buckley

Jay was the lovable loudmouth of the foursome, who was as endearing as he was disgusting.

Actor James, now 30, has mainly stuck to comedy since the show, playing a young Del Boy in the short-lived Only Fools and Horses prequel, Rock and Chips.

He also starred in the music documentary parody Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, which was the creation of Saturday Night Live music trio, The Lonely Island.

He married model Clair Meek in 2012, and together they have two children – Harrison and Jude Buckley.

When the boys finally left school in 2010, they left behind a trio of gorgeous girls who had filled their fantasies throughout the series.

Emily Atack played woman of the world Charlotte, Hannah Tointon played Simon’s love interest Tara and Emily Head played Carli, the long-term object of Simon’s desire and the only one to pop up again in The Inbetweeners Movie in 2011.

So, what has become of the three girls since the series ended seven years ago?

Emily Atack

Emily starred as Charlotte, the girl who all the boys adored, in the schoolroom comedy

The daughter of TV comic Kate Rob and musician Keith Atack, was 18 when she took on the role of Charlotte, the most popular girl in school.

The boys lusted after her and she tormented Jay with claims she’d had “11 lovers already” in one episode.

After The Inbetweeners, Emily put her skates on for a turn in Dancing On Ice, being eliminated eighth in series 5, along with partner Fred Palascak.

Various TV parts followed, including a role in the Only Fools and Horses spin off Rock and Chips, before she showed up in the 2016 film of Dad’s Army, playing Daphne.

She most famously came in second in 2018’s series of I’m a Celeb.

She was also a regular on the recent series of the Tracey Ullman show.

In 2017, the 28-year-old was very busy with five films in the pipeline, including Lies We Tell with Gabriel Byrne and Patrick, which stars Jennifer Saunders.

Emily had a brief fling with One Direction star Harry Styles in 2012.

In 2013, She told Reveal: “We were never boyfriend and girlfriend. I think that’s the first time I’ve ever admitted to what it was, because I’ve always just shrugged it off before.

“’But I think it’s best to clear it up. So, yeah, we had a short-lived thing that was just a bit of fun. Then we went off in our opposite directions.”

Emily Head

Emily Head starred as Simon’s love interest Carli in the series

The daughter of actor Anthony Head, who also appeared in The Inbetweeners as Will’s dad, Emily starred as Carli, the woman of Simon’s dreams.

She also starred in MI High, playing an evil mastermind in a bank scam, in 2010.

After the series ended Emily moved on to the stage, starring in a play at the Bristol Old Vic, but TV viewers will know her better for her most recent move to the Dales.

Since 2016, Emily has played Rebecca White in the ITV soap Emmerdale and has seduced Robert Sugden (Karl Davies)

Since October 2016 Emily has been in Emmerdale, playing Rebecca White.

Emily, now 29, previously revealed that The Inbetweeners made dating difficult – because men just wanted to talk about the show.

She said: “More of them wanted to hear about the boys. Are they really funny?

“There’s a lot of, ‘Oh my mate is like Simon’, or ‘My mate is like Jay’.”

Hannah – the younger sister of former EastEnders and Strictly Come Dancing star Kara – had found fame in Hollyoaks before joining The Inbetweeners.

She played Katy Fox, the younger sister of Warren, in the soap from 2007-2008 and before that, at the tender age of 16, she starred in CBBC comedy Kerching!

After playing Tara in The Inbetweeners, Hannah went on to star alongside sister Kara in the period drama Mr Selfridge.

Hannah, now 30, hit it off with actor Joe Thomas in real life as well and the pair moved in together in 2012 and are now engaged.
