THE war for the world is on in the dark new trailer for Netflix's hit sci-fi drama, Sense8.

Ahead of the show's release, the streaming service has treated fans with a gritty new trailer that promises trouble lies in store for the heroes.

In the new series, the original cluster of sensates - eight people across the globe who find our their thoughts and feelings are connected - discover they are not alone in their ability.

The trouble is, are the other connected groups and senates friends, or foes?

It appears that things are only going to get worse as fight breaks out between the connected clusters, with abilities becoming combined to protect their group.

But just how far the other clusters have become connected remains to be seen, and they may have to overlook their differences to join forces against an even bigger foe.

All sensates are under threat as a mysterious organisation called BPO tracks them down and an enemy tries to neutralise their abilities...by any means necessary.

While Whispers, played by Terrance Mann, threatens war on the sensates, the group are left dumbfounded by how resourceful he can be.
