Ryan Thomas and Lucy Mecklenburgh ‘set up for romance’ on Bear Grylls’ Celebrity Island as bosses ‘try to sex up show’
Bosses are allegedly hoping that the stunning pair couple up on air as they film the new series in Panama
LUCY Mecklenburgh has reportedly struck up a closeness with Coronation Street’s Ryan Thomas after starting to film the new series of Bear Grylls’ Celebrity Island.
The 25-year-old former Towie star apparently caused Ryan’s “eyes to light up” when they arrived for training for the show in South America’s Panama this week, according to the .
A show source told the paper on Sunday: “There's definitely a mutual attraction which is getting everyone excited.
"The crew are going to do everything they can to try to make it happen between them."
They later added to the paper: "There's a real buzz from the producers as they reckon it's their sexiest series to date.
"Everyone involved can't wait to see how they'll all do."

Potential for a new romance comes after The Sun Online revealed the former Corrie star will be following in his brother Adam’s footsteps by trying out jungle life.
While Adam landed himself in the final three as “Mr Bushtucker Trial” in ITV’s I’m a Celebrity, Ryan is trying something much more hard-hitting by trying out the Bear Grylls lifestyle.
Ryan was last connected to TopShop worker Brea Taddei in September last year.
Lucy had previously hinted that she would be up for romance if the opportunity arose as she embraced single life.
Shortly after we revealed she signed up for The Island, she told The Sun: “I am single and if Prince Charming came along I wouldn’t say no.”
Last year’s controversial series of Celebrity Island saw Towie’s Lydia Bright impale her finger on a fishhook, and Made in Chelsea’s Ollie Locke kill a crocodile to feed the crew on the island.
He was signed up for Bear’s old ITV show Mission Survive in 2015, but was dumped due to concerns about his hard partying lifestyle saw him spend the night in the cells after a drunken bust-up in a pub in the Lake District that October.
