It’s David Beckham as you’ve never seen him before… as he dons armour for knight role in Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur film
Football legend plays a 'disgruntled knight' in new movie
DAVID Beckham is set to send fans into a spin after swapping his football kit for a sexy knight's costume.
David was pictured wearing the getup while on the set of his pal Guy Ritchie's new movie King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword.
The soccer star, 41, has been cast as a disgruntled knight called Blackleg Leader in the flick and was sporting a full suit of armour and sword.
Mingling with his co-stars, this is the first real look at David's cameo appearance.
Last month, David gave fans a sneak peek on Instagram after undergoing a dramatic transformation in hair and make-up.
The dad of four was snapped with a huge scar across his blotchy, red face and a row of rotting, yellow teeth.
At the time, he told his 34.5million followers: "Rough day at the office @kingarthurmovie @guyritchie."
According to reports, David's character will be shown failing to pull Excalibur from the stone.
The star previously admitted that he expects criticism for the big screen role.
David told : "I am very aware that many sportsmen and other celebrities have turned their hand to acting and failed.
"I know that it is a tough profession, where you need a huge amount of skill and discipline, and I wouldn’t want to push myself forward too soon, without learning more about it, and doing a lot more practice."
He added: "I had 13 lines and practised a huge amount beforehand. Guy had someone come and rehearse with me, and I did that an hour every day in the build-up."
King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword is set to hit box offices on May 19.
The fantasy adventure film also stars Charlie Hunnam as King Arthur and Jude Law, Astrid Berges-Frisbey and Djimon Hounsou in supporting roles.
News of David's cameo first came just weeks after email leaks revealed the former England captain attempted to use his charity work as part of an unsuccessful campaign to land a knighthood, during which time he dismissed lower awards, ranting: “Unless it’s a knighthood f*** off."
