Jodie Marsh admits she doesn’t want kids as it’s ‘selfish’ and doesn’t want to be known as ‘just a mum’
Star recently finalised her divorce from her ex James Placido
FORMER glamour model Jodie Marsh has publicly declared having children is "selfish" - and she won't ever be a mum as she has bigger fish to fry.
The 38-year-old has previously revealed she wanted to start a family of her own, but it seems that her failed marriage to James Placido has changed her perspective.
Writing in, Jodie explained: "Most of my life I’ve wanted children; four in fact.
"I love the idea of having a big family and a house full of noise and laughter."
She went on to explain that she had been looking into sperm donation before meeting her ex husband and ending her five-year celibacy.
Jodie explained that when the couple split and she found herself back where she started, she found she had a shift in opinion.
The documentary presenter wrote: "As it stands today, I really don’t know if I want kids and if I’m totally honest, I’m swaying more towards NOT wanting them.
"I look around me and all I see are stressed out, frazzled mums who are knackered all the time and who no longer have an identity other than 'mum.'"

She added that a friend telling her she was 'selfish' changed her opinion about having children.
Jodie explained: "I also wasn’t in any rush to have a child as I wanted to enjoy life with [James] (oh how simple and naïve I was!).
"I remember once a friend saying to me, a mere few weeks after the wedding: 'When are you having kids then?' and I replied, 'Oh God, not yet, we’re not in a rush.'
"He said to me: “Urrgh, you’re going to be one of those selfish couples that never have them aren’t you.”
"I remember feeling gobsmacked at this remark. Surely, it’s MORE selfish to have a child when you’re not ready or you’re not even sure if you want one, I thought to myself.
"The same friend later went on to admit that he never really wanted kids but it was just the 'done thing' (he’s in his 60’s) and that you “had” to have them back then. How smug I felt."
Her U-turn comes just a year after she announced on Twitter that she was actively seeking out a sperm donor to give her a much longed for baby.
She tweeted: "The future is this: I'm making 2 more shows for @tlc_uk then I'm going to revisit having a baby via sperm donation #itsallaboutME."
Then in June she appeared on This Morning to tell Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield how she was casting her net far and wide to haul in the perfect silent partner.
She explained: "Before I’d even met him [James] I was looking into sperm donation.
"I’m not getting any younger and if I want kids there are limited options available.
"I’d already started looking into sperm donation. I’d already decided in my head I was going to Denmark – because there it’s anonymous still.
"So I’ll never have a guy turn up and say: 'I want to be in your life'.
"James convinced me I didn’t need a sperm donor but that didn’t work out."
Jodie also revealed that she has a "low egg count" meaning starting a family was hard for her.
Continuing to explain her situation to Holly and Phil, she added: "I am so happy on my own.
"I’ve never been happier. I love my life. I am making these incredible documentaries.
"I have everything in my life is here I want it to be – apart from having a partner and a child."
Her comment comes just days after the star revealed she is planning to leave Essex in a bid to get away from her ex.
The glamour girl even says she has boosted her security, because she is afraid of being home alone.
Speaking to , the 38 year-old says she feels a “victim of the worst con ever” and has trouble sleeping in her own home.
She said: “I have put up more CCTV cameras outside my house.
“I have someone stay over five to six times a week. They don’t want to leave me on my own because I’m scared.”
She then went on to suggest she’s willing to emigrate in order to avoid her ex-husband.
