Shania Twain reveals new single ‘Life’s About to Get Good’ and her first album for 15 Years
Record-breaking country singer is back after hit Vegas residency
SHANIA Twain has revealed details of her first album in 15 years with lead single Life’s About to Get Good coming in June.
The Canadian songstress announced during a one-off stint on The Voice that she will release the currently untitled album in September.
Speaking of the writing process for the comeback track, Shania revealed in a statement: “I was at home looking out at the ocean and I said to myself, ‘Here I am stuck in this past of negativity, but it’s so beautiful out.
“I’m not in the mood to write a ‘feeling-sorry-for-myself’ song… You can’t have the good without the bad. And that’s what the song ended up being about.”
Her success paved the way for a string of artists including Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus but now Shania, 51, is back to reclaim her title as the undisputed Queen of country music.
Shania’s Come On Over album sold over 40 million copies worldwide and stayed in the US top ten for over 150 weeks. It was followed by Up! In 2002 and Shania has spent the past fifteen years juggling reality TV stints, fragrance launches and a hit Vegas residency.
During her time away from performing, Shania battled a vocal-cord disorder which kept the singer out of the recording studio and off the stage for years.
Shania told Rolling Stone: "I'm a different singer now, there was a lot of coming to terms with that. It's been one of the obstacles in my life I've just had to learn to live with."
Shania is expected to unveil several new tracks from her fifth studio album when she headlines a country music festival in California this weekend.
However fans wanting to see the iconic singer on tour will be disappointed. In 2015 performed the Rock This Country tour but it never travelled outside of North America.

Rock This Country was billed as Shania’s last ever tour, with the singer announcing that year: “This is my last tour, so I’m going to make the most of it. I want to go out with a bang… This is a very, very important time on the road for me.. I just feel like I’m ready to hang my hat up in that regard.”
