Newly single Cara De La Hoyde wants to return to the Love Island villa to find love again on the show after split from Nathan Massey
CARA De La Hoyde wants to go back on to Love Island to find love again after splitting from Nathan Massey, with whom she won the show last year.
The gorgeous circus performer, 25, fell head over heels for Essex carpenter Nathan, 24, in the summer of 2016 on the show, but they recently split after a huge spat.
Now single, she's told ITV producers she's well up for going back on the reality series, which gave her the "best summer of [her] life".
Asked if she was interested, Cara told Reveal: "I spoke to the producers and said, 'You may as well throw me back in there now!'."
While Cara is keen to get involved again, despite already coming first and winning £50,000, she mainly regrets that she and Nathan made the wrong moves in their relationship.
"If I was given a magic wand, I'd go back to our time after Love Island, as we wouldn't have moved in together," she said.
"We'd go back to dating and take it slower. I think then we'd still be happy.
"People would tell us we were moving too quick and, on reflection, they were right.
She went on: "When we came off Love Island, we were thrown into this world where we were known only as a couple, and everything centred around being that couple.
"I didn’t have any of my real friends or family around me, whereas Nath did. So I was in the flat all the time, and you just get agitated."
Asked how things have been since their final row, Cara said: "We haven’t really spoken to each other since then. My mum went to pick my stuff up from the flat."
However, it seems like Cara's feelings for Nathan — who stars on Towie with her — have not disappeared.
She added: "Not on my part, no. I still love him."
Seeing as he's declared he still loves her too, it's a wonder they haven't got back together already.
- Love Island returns to ITV2 some time between late spring and early summer.
