PLAYFUL Piers Morgan pretended to hit Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid over the head - before shrugging off suggestions he found working with her a challenge.

The presenter growled and clenched his fists as he mimicked the action following a segment on new game experience, The Rage Room, featured on today's show.

Susanna had introduced the feature on the Birmingham-based experience, which lets customers wield baseball bats to bash items including pint glasses and beer bottles to bits.

She said it would be perfect for those wanting to "take a baseball bat" to an annoying colleague.

After discussing the quirky way of letting out frustration Piers insisted he didn't find presenting GMB with the former Strictly star a "challenge", before pretending to punch her from behind.

Piers said: "Just to clarify, you find me so irritating you'd want to take a baseball bat and smash me around the head - is that the idea?" to which Susanna replied: "No, I said if you work with someone challenging!

He growled and clutched his hands into fists after a segment about The Rage Room on today's GMB

"You find me challenging! Perhaps you'd like to go into the rage room?"

Yet Piers, 52, bluntly replied: "I don't find you a challenge.

"Sorry to deflate your bubble, but no."

Clearly left a little irked by his words, Susanna then quizzed: "What, do you think I'm a pushover?

"Do you?" before the pair burst out laughing.

Meanwhile, a storm was already brewing in the Good Morning Britain studio as weather man Alex Beresford made a cheeky dig at presenter Piers' attention-seeking behaviour.

The banter was sparked after Alex gave an update on his new, beard-free look following his shave live on air yesterday.

On today's show, co-host Susanna Reid said: "How's Alex getting on without his stubble?

In a lengthy reply, he said: "To be honest, I did feel the cold yesterday.

"Usually my cheeks are shielded from the cold wind by that bushy beard but it's no longer.

"It's very streamlined.

"No nicks or cuts, very smooth. But it will grow back by the weekend."

Alex's confession prompted Piers to quip: "Do you think we are spending slightly too much energy on your half inch stubble?"

Immediately Alex burst into mocking laughter and fired back: "We spend loads of time on you Piers."

this morning - easy ! ," to which Alex replied with laughing Emoji icons.

 

On yesterday's programme, Alex braved a nail-biting shave with a cut throat razor - while continuing to present the forecast.

Welsh lass Sophie Collins, the first woman in Wales to bid for the Best Cut Throat Shaver competition, was the woman in charge of his on-screen makeover.
