Nick Knowles reveals his brother counselled him through the emotional aftermath of his split from wife Jess
The DIY SOS star described the break down of his marriage as 'hugely difficult'
NICK Knowles revealed his older brother John helped him when he was at his lowest point following the breakdown of his marriage.
The TV star, 54, separated from wife Jess at the beginning of last year but they remained close and he supported her through her cervical cancer battle when she was diagnosed in the summer.
Nick came under close public scrutiny when he began dating actress Gemma Oaten, and their romance was short lived, with he and Jess going on to give their ill-fated marriage a second try.
Nick told : “I did really go through it emotionally. Jess was really, really unwell. All those things are hugely difficult but I always had people to talk to who are close to me.
“When I come under extreme stress, I spend time with my older brother John, who has had counselling training.”
While he has said he doesn't care if the public think he's a love rat, he revealed he won't be seen on Tinder anytime soon.

“One friend said I should go on Tinder," he explained. "Can you imagine what would happen in the press if I was suddenly to appear on Tinder? It would be mental.”
In a recent interview with The Sun, Jess said she felt no ill will toward Nick and wished him well.
However, she ruled out giving him a third chance, explaining: "You can’t spend eight years together and have no feelings.
I wish Nick happiness, health and success. But no, we won’t be getting back together, although I’ll miss his cooking.
He is such a good cook!"
