Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson admits he FAKED This Morning ‘slip-up’ over who killed Amy Barnes
The actor recorded a video before going on air revealing his plan
HOLLYOAKS' Kieron Richardson finally admitted his recent 'big reveal blunder' on This Morning, which saw him nearly give away the identity of Amy Barnes' murderer, was in fact all staged.
Hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were left stunned when soap reporter Sharon Marshall told how she saw Kieron filming himself backstage explaining what he planned to do just before he went on the sofa.
After Sharon's revelation, Kieron posted the video on his Twitter account accompanied with some laughter emojis.
In the short clip, Kieron says to camera: "Okay, so I'm about to go on This Morning. What I'm going to actually do is slip up and pretend to everyone that I've revealed who the killer is, when in actual fact I'm in on it all along.
"I'm just winding everybody up because everybody thinks they've worked out who the killer is. This is really exciting – I feel like I'm on some kind of secret mission."
Kieron had Holly and Phil well and truly fooled during his appearance just weeks ago.
Discussing the Amy Barnes storyline in which his character Ste is a suspect, he said: “We’ve known for nearly a year now (about the murder). Because people know I’m having babies, they’re like ‘it’s not you’. The story’s been planned way before we got pregnant.”
After bringing up his character’s blackouts, which he suffers as the result of drug abuse, he said “I’m going to get in so much trouble…
“Ashley Slanina-Davies is absolutely fantastic, even in the final scenes when I’m … no,” raising his hands over his face.
He fled from the sofa at the end of the interview, seemingly keen to escape the studio.
When Sharon dropped the bombshell on Tuesday's show, Holly cried out: "Oh my God!"
