Brit Awards 2025 updates: Charli XCX bags FIVE gongs as Jack Whitehall sparks outrage with jokes at chaotic ceremony

CHARLI XCX was the big winner at this year's Brit Awards after scooping five gongs.

The Brit singer walked away with awards for Album Of The Year, Artist Of The Year, Dance Act, Songwriter Of The Year and Song Of The Year (joint with Billie Ellish).

Jade Thirlwall also won her first ever Brit Award as a solo artist, picking up Best Pop Act.

But awards aside, there was controversy surrounding the show at London's O2 Arena.

BRITs host Jack Whitehall took the helm after a four-year hiatus but he shocked music fans with some 'disgusting' jokes.

Jack poked fun at KSI, Stephen Hawking and even made a so-called quip about rapper P Diddy - and fans were unimpressed.

Meanwhile, Sabrina Carpenter had flown to the UK to open the show with a very British-inspired performance.

And towards the end, BRITs bosses paid a special and emotional tribute to One Direction singer Liam Payne, who died aged 31 last year.

Best of the bunch

Here are all the winner's from last night's Brit Awards 2025:

Bad eye

Stormzy was awarded the gong for Best Hip Hop/ Grime/ Rap Act last night and he arrived on stage in sunglasses.

Fans initially thought being a multiple Brit Award winner had gone to his head, but Stormzy explained he had suffered an injury.

The rapper told the crowd he had "mashed up" his eye during a game of padel and had a corneal abrasion.

Firstly, get well soon to Stormzy.

Secondly, 'padel' is "a racket sport that's similar to tennis but played on a smaller court with walls" - in case you were wondering!

Blue air

Danny Dyer (unsurprisingly) turned the air at London's O2 Arena very blue last night.

The actor appeared on camera several times with a live mic and dropped some pretty offensive words.

TV bosses were quick to jump into action and kept muting him but, if you were interested, Danny said the C-bomb while taking a swipe at Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.

Tears for Liam

Fans were left in tears last night while watching an emotional tribute to Liam Payne.

One Direction star Liam tragically died in October 2024 and The Brits honoured him in a touching video montage.

Liam was shown in photos and video throughout his life and career, including his time as a contestant on The X Factor.

Viewers both in London's O2 Arena and at home found themselves crying at the segment, which also included pictures of Liam holding his son, Bear.

Nip slip

Charli XCX had the cameras on her a lot last night after she scooped an impressive FIVE awards.

But she also had all eyes on her because of her very risqué outfit.

Charli attended the event in a sheer black blouse with no bra underneath, meaning her nipples were on full view.

She even told the crowd in the O2 Arena that ITV bosses, who were airing the show, had complained. Oops!

In for a penny

90s boyband Five were in the crowd last night after recently reuniting.

Host Jack Whitehall spoke to the lads and we were reminded that Abz Love previously tried to SELL his Brit Award on Ebay.

Abz did manage to get an offer for £1million, but the buyer never paid up.

He still described himself as a "catch" for the stunt during a later episode of Celebs Go Dating...

'Not funny'

The Brit Awards has definitely toned down in recent years, but last night's show still caused some controversy.

Fans were not happy after host Jack Whitehall made a number of 'inappropriate jokes' while presenting the show.

Jack has been slammed for a remark about P Diddy and cruel jibes aimed at KSI and Stephen Hawking.

Britain's best

Here is a list of all the Brit Awards 2025 winners:

The 2025 Raye

Charli XCX is the Raye of this year's Brit Awards!

She was nominated for five awards - and has walked out with five awards underneath her arm.

Massive congrats! The Brits are unofficially now named the Brats!

Final award

It's time for the final Brit Award of the night - Mastercard Album Of The Year.

Who do you think is going to win it?

Can Charli XCX win ANOTHER one?!

Touching tribute

The Brits has paid a touching and emotional tribute to Liam Payne.

I doubt there was a dry eye in the house as that played out.

Fans at home definitely felt the tears.

One wrote on X: "The Liam Payne tribute. I’m crying. RIP Liam."

Another added: "Didn't expect to be crying while watching the Brits tonight. Liam Payne."

Liam, who found fame in One Direction, tragically died last October aged 31.

Another win

Charli XCX has won another Brit Award thanks to Brat Summer.

She's certainly had a good run tonight - and wants to flash her nipples loud and proud, too...

Charli even said ITV has complained about her baring all underneath her very sheer top. Uh oh!

The big one

It's time for the biggest award of the night - Artist Of The Year.

But who is it going to be?

Long wait

Fans are delighted to see Sam Fender on the stage performing.

It's been a long wait, but hopefully worth it!

These Brits viewers at home seem to thinks so.

"It's finally time for Sam Fender!" one wrote on X.

Another added: "LOVE Sam Fender so much!"

And a third chimed in: "Can they please just announce Sam Fender as a Glasto headliner already?!"

Going global

The Best International Artist category was STRONG!

But the winner was Chappell Roan, of Pink Pony Club fame.

Chappell isn't there to pick up her Brit in person, which is a shame.

Especially to Sabrina Carpenter who is nominated and is actually there...

No point

Brits fans are home are still complaining about all the muting that's going on.

Jack was just blocked out again, with us all wondering what on earth he said.

"What is the point of them swearing at the #BRITs, we cannot understand what they’re saying so we miss the jokes," one fan raged on X.

Big reunion

Jade has not ruled out a reunion with Little Mix.

She has told host Jack that the band could "absolutely" get back together in the future.

Jack also revealed how kinky Jade's merchandise is on her website.... right in front of her mum Norma.

Awks!

Not last

The Last Dinner Party have comeback and won another Brit Award.

Their parents are in the audience. I wonder if they're sat with Jack Whitehall's mum and dad?

Getting messy

Lola Young forgot to do up her shirt.

Do you want to tell her, or should I?

Mind you, it's probably quite hot in there with all those people.

Keeping quiet

Fans watching The Brits at home are beginning to get frustrated with all the muting that's going on.

Well, if they do insist on handing the microphone to Danny Dyer!

Writing on X, one viewer complained: "For the love of god. Stop muting Danny Dyer please."

Another added: "Calm down with the bleeping out words ffs!"

Bright lights

Poor Stomzy is not wearing sunglasses because of his superstar status.

He told the crowd in the O2 that he has "mashed up his eye playing padel".

Ouch!

Congrats to Stormzy on his award, but I really would have liked it if the camera panned to his ex Maya Jama, who is in the audience...

You'd be lying if you said you weren't interested in her reaction!

Quiet time

What on earth did Jack Whitehall say just then for it to be muted for so long?

I think we can guess why Danny Dyer was muted, but Jack?

Come on, guys. This is very annoying for the millions watching at home!

Blue air

They are brave to let Danny Dyer up there with a mic.

The Brit Awards has definitely toned down over the years, but this is a risk.

Sabrina has already sworn during tonight's live broadcast, but a more gentle S-bomb than Danny's favourite word.

And there we have it. Albeit muted out!

Five guys

Jack Whitehall made me laugh out loud while talking to Five, aka 5ive.

He told the lads that Antony Costa must be fuming for "not getting the call up" about their reunion.

Ha.

And also - who else had forgotten Abz sold his Brit Award on eBay?!

No wonder Jack swiped that random one back so quickly.

Tea jokes

Sabrina is the first star to swear during the live broadcast, dropping the S-bomb while collecting her first Brit Award.

In fairness, she kind of had good reason to.

Sabrina told the crowd how delighted she is that Espresso was such a hit in the UK, when we "drink the s*** out of tea". Lol.
