TV veteran admits he is taking no chances with his star-studded phone book
PAUL O'Grady keeps his celebrity contacts under code names in case his phone ever falls into the wrong hands.
The TV veteran regularly texts stars such as Tom Hardy, but he has made sure their numbers will never go public if his handset is nicked.
The beloved presenter admits he regularly exchanges messages with Hollywood superstar Tom after meeting him at Battersea Dogs' Home in London.
Paul goes on to explain that he keeps all his celebrity phone numbers under fake names and reveals his pal Cilla Black was listed under "Cauliflower".
He told Heat magazine: "Yes [everyone has a code name] and I can't remember who half the people are.
"Cilla was always Cauliflower for some reason.
"I think Alan Carr is Andy Pandy. So if you find a phone with Andy Pandy in you know who you're calling."
He added of his friendship with Tom: "He's lovely, Tom.
"He's such a great fella... He just likes coming down to Battersea to to hang out with the dogs."
Animal-lover Paul has been closely connected to the animal shelter in recent years as he has been featuring the organisation iin his TV show For the Love of Dogs.
