KERRY Katona has admitted she "cried constantly for two or three days"; last week as she continues to openly battle mental illness.

Appearing on This Morning today, the star opened up on her bipolar disorder, before finally revealing what REALLY happened during that memorable slurring interview on the show eight years ago.

"I am an open book and that's what I love about being in the public eye. You have seen all my lows," she told Ruth and Eamonn.

"Only last week I had two or three days constant crying, I didn't eat.

"I was upset, and for what reason I don't know, I just felt really irritated."

As Eamonn asked Kerry about her past troubles, she immediately referenced her infamous interview eight years ago with Phillip Schofield, which saw her slurring and struggling to speak.

Phillip was forced to stop the chat to ask her if she was feeling OK, as she struggled to form her words clearly.

"It was eight years ago when I was slurring and that was due to medication, pure medication," she insisted.

"Even now I have episodes where I talk a million miles an hour. I'm still on medication and I'm not ashamed to admit that."

Now Kerry is supporting Prince William's Heads Together campaign to raise awareness of mental illnesses.

"I've done the drugs and drink, but that time was pure medication.

"My psychiatrist said, tell the public you have struggled with drugs and drink, but don't say you have mental health issues, because if they can't see it they can't understand it.

"It's time we got rid of this grey area."

Kerry has been open about her battle with her kids too, and she added: "They know me, I'm their mum, I was diagnosed in 2005 so they've lived with it for a long time."

Kerry concluded: "It starts from one tiny thing that can build and build, and unfortunately someone could take their life. It's a horrible world we live in."

Now she's trying for another baby with her husband George Kay, and while she was keen to remain tight-lipped on the subject, Kerry joked to the hosts: "It just makes me more money on the cover of magazines."

But she added: "Do I look pregnant? Even if I was I wouldn't tell you.

"I'm not being careful, but I won't go down that route it's too personal. I was born to be a mum."
