Who are DNA? Britain’s Got Talent 2017 finalists who suffered an epic blunder
THE MAGICAL dude really did make miracles happen - they left Britain's Got Talent: Simon Cowell was left speechless.
The trouble for DNA is that this wasn't in the finale - but now they're more ready than ever to make audiences gasp and could be making a come-back. Here's what we know.
Who are Britain's Got Talent act DNA?
Darren, 29, and Andrew, 43, are a magic act called DNA and are well known in the industry.
They have worked at a number of corporate events and also as consultants for big name films.
The duo, who hail from Essex, have won accolades "Gold Star Member of the Inner Magic Circle" and "The Magic Circle Close Up Magician of the Year" for their work.
According to their website, they have previously entertained Fearne Cotton, Boris Becker, Bradley Walsh, Lenny Henry and Davina McCall.
What did DNA do on Britain's Got Talent to leave Simon Cowell speechless?
Simon was called on stage and asked three questions – to choose the number of a front door on an imaginary house, the colour of the house’s lounge walls and the name of a celebrity sitting inside it.
The media mogul looked sceptical as he wrote down his answers that he had chosen at random in his mind.
When he read out his answers, 717, turquoise and Sir Roger Moore his jaw dropped when he turned to see the act had written the exact same thing has him.
Incredibly, throughout the sketch both Andrew and Darren had managed to change their clothes without a single person realising.
They astonished again in the live semi-final, getting Simon to find a word in the dictionary that David Walliams had secretly written down - when neither they nor Simon knew what the word was.
The duo said they used the "power of suggestion" to persuade the two judges to pick the answers they had already pre-chosen.
What was there blunder in the final?
In the BGT final mind readers Darren, 29, and Andrew, 43, made their first ever mistake on the show and it was obvious they were mortified.
Darren asked judge David Walliams: "Without looking at the page you stopped on, do you know the page number?" to which David replied he didn't.
Writing down what he thought was right, he asked David to tell him what page he had stopped at.
As David replied he had stopped at 31, Darren grinned and said, "I’m going to change it. I did get it wrong, I wrote 81, I apologise."
What other magicians have appeared on Britain's Got Talent?
There have been a number of magicians who have trod on the BGT stage - though not a lot have been successful.
But last year Richard Jones bucked the trend, beating the odds to bag the title, a slot on the Royal Variety Show and £500,000.
He now stars in his own TV show which sees him entertaining his fellow troops and forces’ sweetheart singer Katherine Jenkins.
