NOEL Fielding has been spotted in public for the first time since his Apple TV+ comedy show was axed due to a mysterious illness.
Fans were left concerned about the comedian after his representatives confirmed The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin was cancelled because of a "health matter".
Today The Great British Bake Off host, 51, was seen out and about in North London, enjoying some downtime with his wife Lliana Bird and a close friend.
In the snaps he was laughing and looked to be in high spirits.
The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin, which was set to return for a second series, was axed after Noel failed to resume work following the Christmas break.
His representatives later confirmed his absence was due to a "health issue".
Insiders have suggested that efforts are underway to salvage some of the nearly completed second season.
A source told the Sun: "It’s now considered to be something of a salvage operation, although it’s not clear whether they have enough [material] to do anything with."
There is speculation that an hour-long special might be possible, potentially airing later this year.
However, the show’s cancellation has also led to potential legal repercussions.
More than 100 cast and crew members who suddenly found themselves out of work are reportedly considering a class action lawsuit against Apple TV+.
A TV insider said: "Axing a show halfway through production is virtually unheard of — plus there’s a mystery over just what has happened. It’s left bosses of other shows he is on feeling extremely nervous."
This has raised questions over Noel's other commitments, including his role as co-host of Channel 4’s The Great British Bake Off.
The popular baking competition is set to start filming its new series in April, and while no official statement has been made regarding his participation, production insiders are said to be making contingency plans in case he is unable to return.
