LISA Riley has shared a cryptic message after Peter Kay was slammed for making a cruel joke about her.
Comedian Peter, 51, made a harsh reference to actress Lisa’s battle with alcohol, after she quit drinking nine years ago.
Today Emmerdale star Lisa, 48, took to Instagram to post about “seeing the good in life”.
She shared a quote that read: “We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorns have roses.”
Lisa added: “See the good in life….before you ALWAYS jump to the negative….its such a simpler way to live for sure.”
Fans were quick to comment on the upload, with one writing: “Absolutely! A saying everyone should take heed of your positive outlook Lisa, always bring a smile to my face thank you.”
Peter came under fire following his latest gig in his native Manchester, which saw him boot audience members out after a series of interruptions.
After he called for one female fan to be removed when she shouted “we love you Peter Kay”, he couldn't resist a distasteful dig as she made her way through the aisles - with audience members claiming he said: "Have a drink have we?
"Go on, off you go Lisa Riley.”
A fan then told : "The whole thing just feels very nasty and bitter.
"His performance was poor but the way he dealt with one heckler and someone shouting 'we love you' was ridiculous.
"My friend and I left the show after that, half an hour early. Others left the show early too.”
Lisa has spoken openly about her decision to go sober, once admitting to drinking two bottles of wine a night.
She also confessed she "drowned my feelings in alcohol" following her mum's death.
